When did you fall in love with MMA?

When did you know deep down you were a true hardcore fan of the sport?

I saw an episode or 2 of the first TUF and thought it was interesting. Then forgot about it until the Ultimate Finale where I saw Bonnar-Griffin and was like "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!" But even after that I forgot about it because of the lack of TV exposure because it was always pay-per-view.

Then around Ortiz vs Griffin(UFC 59 I think) I was up at my dude's house with his friend and they were looking at the results and I was like damn I've seen this **** before and then we looked up the fights. So I got into it again but really what made me LOVE the sport and really want to be a fan and follow it was the PRIDE shows on Fox Sports Net I watched then that summer. I watched Cro Cop vs Big Nog, Rampage vs Arona, Rampage vs Silva 1, Rampage vs Shogun, Krazy Horse vs Gomi, and Don Frye vs that chinesse guy he brawled with and others during a marathon and I was like O **** IM HOOKED!!!!

Kind of similar to your experience Nate. I saw a tape of UFC 1 and couldn't believe how this little guy Royce Gracie was easily tapping out bigger guys, even if they didn't have a ground game or know wrestling or jiu jitsu. Saw the next few up to about UFC 6, forgot about it for a while, saw some Pride replays on Fox Sports Net and more recent UFC replays on ****e TV, caught a glimpse of Chuck Lidell knocking out guys left and right and Frank Mir tapping out opponents and I was hooked for life. Later on, I couldn't believe Royce and the Shamrocks were even still active. Not so sure about this latest Ken Shamrock comeback though, but that's another story.
