    year training in MMA.. Floyd

how would he do... he retires from boxing, and decides to do mma, he trains 1 year, before his mma debut, how would he do if he learned all the mma stuff....

    One year won't do.

He needs two, three years. And that just the basics and putting a comfortable style together.

you can't learn all the "mma stuff" in a year

even if he trained a year of wrestling exclusively, it wouldn't help him against someone who's been training wrestling since their high school days

If u wanna do good in MMA you need to love it to, i don't think Floyd would have any interest in kicks and takedowns. Too old for that; a 20 y old Floyd is a different story.

              1) He won't learn everything MMA in one year
              2) It depends on where he decides to train
              3) If he were to train 1 year, even with a top camp, he'd still lose.

Floyd isn't exactly young either and his hands are brittle. 4oz gloves won't make that any better.

It's a different kind of athleticism and conditioning in MMA. A guy like Faber, Aldo or if he fought at 155 a guy like Edgar would outwork him. Speed and Reflexes, yeah maybe, but overall athleticism, strength and power, no way.

Depends as most mma gyms milk you for everything your worth he probly wont even be sparring after 6 months.... though if he had an intelligent trainer who wasnt going about the easiest for them selfs, slowest, and most monitarly consuming path.........

they would start him with training on how to avoid take downs this is a guy whos bread and butter is boxing why the **** does he need to know how to submit some one when he can just get back on his feet and knock them out. so along with take down defense he would need to be trained in elbows kicks and knees and finally you have fore arm conditioning and shin conditioning.

so we have takedown defense, kicks elbows and knees, how to defend them, and conditioning to take them.

Id say with an hour a day 3 times a week devoted to whats best for him in mma + his regular boxing training/conditioning he would be unstoppable with in a year.

he'd beat chumps but lost to the real top guys. MMA is a completely different ball game, and considering how long he's been doing boxing...it would take a while for him to transition well...if even possible..
