Jon Jones out of UFC 295 after suffering pectoral injury, Jones will out for eight months

Jon Jones is out of his UFC 295 fight.

Dana White announced on Wednesday morning that Jones would miss his fight against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 due to a pectoral injury suffered on Monday during training. White said he would need surgery and be out of action for 8 months.

“Jon Jones was training last night, got injured,” White explained. “He was wrestling and tore the tendon that connects your pec to the bone off the bone. Eight months, gonna need surgery, he’s out.”

As a result, the new main event for UFC’s November 11 show at Madison Square Garden will be Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira for the UFC light heavyweight title. A fight between Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall for the interim UFC heavyweight title will co-main event.

Jones has only fought sparingly in recent years. In his first fight since 2020, Jones returned to action in March and defeated Cyril Gane for the vacant UFC heavyweight title in his division debut in two minutes and four seconds.

Jones is the biggest nothing in the history of MMA: a fake talent who was tolerated and protected to go on PEDs for his entire career, saved by judges when losing and protected by referees to go with his forbidden tactics. Ran *hitless for two years from Ngannou, and now doesn't have the balls to face a faded Miocic.

I like Pavlovich vs Aspinall way better then drug cheat vs ancient burnout. Heavyweight division needs new faces, new blood!

Furthermore, Jones should have fought Pavlovich straight away, the russian is totally more deserving of a title shot than anyone else, especially Miocic who got ktfo in his last fight 2 years and a half ago...

Absolutely insane take. Whatever you think of JBJ as a person or think of him or the many great fighters caught using PEDs JBJ is a bad mfer & is clearly in any discussion about the best to enter the cage.

          1. Many were busted with PEDs and some got banned for life after the first time - Jones was busted twice and is still competing. Actually, tree times, but the last time it was a "pulsation"
          2. Joke Jones is a cheater and the golden chicken of UFC - the most protected fighter ever
          3. He is far from any greatness, little all being "the best to enter the cage"

One must be so blinded to discard the facts and say other.

Most protected fighter ever lol. He ran through the division like a hot knife through butter coming up. You are a insane take machine lol.

I got no issue with the PED criticisms. Thats fair. To act like he can't fight or didn't destroy the division is insanity tho. And I don't gaf about P4P sh^t but its goofy to not act like he wouldn't be in that discussion.

Yeah, he's been given victory over few losses. They also let him eye poke freely and on top of that, it turned out he was on PEDs for a long time. But hey - I don't want to disturb your pink Joke "Coke" Jones world, so ignore me, you won't succeed anyway.

Don't know about a few, but he defenetly lost against Reyes 3 rounds to 2. That was a robbery all day long, and i'm not surprised he took a 3 years hiatus after that. I belive deep down he knows he lost that one too.
Anyway, in my opinion Jones is a great fighter but not the greatest, i've always found him a bit boring and too decision prone. To me prime Silva was better than prime Jones, way more entertaining. Would have loved to see them fighting!
Plus, it always botherd me he took over a decade to transition into the heavyweight division. There were big fights versus prime versions of Velasquez, Dos Santos, Miocic, Overeem and Werdum to be made. Today Miocic is just a rusted over the hill name to sell ppvs...

At least it's a respectable reason to cancel a fight, and not a DUI or positive drug test like what usually happens when Jones pulls out.

Jones seems to have been around forever, but he was inactive the second half of his career. He wasted a lot of prime years with suspensions and also spending too much time at 205. He should have moved up to HW after the second DC fight (or actually after that suspension when he popped positive after that fight).

When you think about it, he never really looked that good at LHW after 2017 besides the Gus rematch.

Stipe didn't really deserve a title shot, now he chooses to sit out even longer rather than take on one of the contenders. Dana White privilege at work.
