I just got off the phone with Phil...man that guy has had a rough year!!!...He called me last night 12:15 am EST from the emergency room in vegas. First of all pending further review he is currently suspended WORLDWIDE until basically 2005. He is broke finacially from all the 2003 medical bills and training expenses and time off because of his pec injury. And then there he is calling me from the emergency room (with no insurance mind you) because he is having severe trouble breathing despite having been on antibiotics for 3 weeks now for walking pnemonia...he didn't sound very good at all! I was very concerned from the way he sounded but couldn't help think "the last thing this guy needs is another bill from being admitted to the hospital". Turns out they released him around 3:30 pm EST after many hours of observation and testing...They said he will be ok, thank God!...but this is the SCARY part, besides having fluid in his lungs (which he's known about for a couple weeks now...and has had symptoms of from mid october)... they found a big blood clot in his left lung. The ER Dr said he believed it had been there for a long time (many weeks probably) due to where it was and the size of the clot. As of last night his left lung was only working at 15 to 25 % capacity due to the severity and position of the clot. The Dr said he is incredibly lucky they found it because through medication it will dissolve within only days...but that if it had dislogged, which could very easily have happened by any moderate to heavy blow to the chest or back (especially if under any extra pressure from a severe cardio vascular demand) it would mean death or at least a life threatening scenario......so let's see...We got a heart breaking loss to Lindland....Two weeks later a pec tear so severe that 2 Dr's told him his career was over and the 3rd Dr said he thought he could fix it (despite telling Phil that in his many years of being a surgeon it was the worst pec tear he had ever seen) but it cost Phil over 20 Grand to have it repaired (with Phil having no insurance)....a 9 month layoff to come back from the injury (even though they said it would take 18 months)....a "mistake" on the stoppage (by the ref's own admission).....loss of $20,000 in prize money, plus another $5,000 fine, plus thousands more to make an appeal for a reduced sentance with no gaurantees of anything changing, plus more ER medical bills....and now this!! damn!!!!....all i can say is thank god he was smart enough to go to the hospital last night!.....heal up bro, and keep your chin up...things will get better.

with some sympathy for some of that, bitching that hes being punished for what he did is pointless. hes lucky they ever let him fight again. Maybe if he didnt do that he could fight and earn money to pay his bills.
