Le vs. Shamrock: scoring the fight

After watching Cung Le vs. Frank Shamrock I was thinking of something...I've just recently started following MMA hardcore...I was wondering that if the fight wouldve went to the cards would the Thai kicks to Shamrock's arm have counted as points scored or would it have counted as Shamrock being able to block the kicks?

Whether they would've counted or not they base points also for ring control which Le obviously had in the fight and also he was more agressive of the both while Shamrock was defending more and waiting for oppourtunities
