    bars hold in the UFC

Aright this question might sound ****** but how come in certain positions, you cant just take a guy and strangle him with your hands, you know the famous homer simpson/bart choke or whatever you wanna call it? Im guessing it must be bared but i cant say i exactly know why, its not like an eye gouge or anything. When someone is defending the rear naked choke or what not, and the guy cant fit his forearm under the opponents chin, he could easily just grab him with both hands on the neck and there you go. am i wrong? Anyone know any other moves of that sort you cant do in the UFC?

if that was a joke, you have a very keen sense of humor lol.
otherwise, idk thats what kickboxing is for

am i wrong about the choking thing, why is it not legal to just strangle someone

although im taking that as a joke,if you actually could kick in boxing, it would be like your allowed to kick except you cant throw a roundhouse, you know what im saying, the moves are allowed, just certain teq. are not.
so whats the difference between a rear naked choke, triangle choke, or just strangling someone? Is it cheap?

anyone see the second fight between matt hughes and frank trigg? At one point it looked like hughes was choking trigg with one hand and punching him with the other. and i mean doing this leaves you open to so many other attacks like armbars and whatnot, and it not even that strong of a choke. id love for someone to come up and try and strangle me instead of well, pretty much anything. Only way i could see it working is if your on him from up top, on his back, and hes blocking his neck and you can only fit in your fingers.

Any Choke that cuts off airflow through the Trachea is illegal in MMA competition, due to the fact that a person could die if its collapses. Chokes cutting off the arteries of the neck are legal because they only cut off blood flow the brain and once let go the person will have little signs of respiratory damage.

Ok thanks. Its different to press your forearm against their throat then to just put your fingers around their windpipes and squeeze.
