Just saw Akira. Didn't like it, just like every other Anime I've seen. I guess Anime isn't my thing.

One anime I liked was Elfen Lied. Dunno if you'd like it but it's worth looking up or maybe watching the first ep. Lots of nudity, violence, guns, death, gore, child abuse, jailbait split-personality girl with super powers etc.

The Death Note films are really good IMO. The anime came first, I watched a couple of eps of it. It seemed good but I had already seen the film by then so it was pointless watching the TV show with the exact same storyline/events.

Those are the only ones I've seen much of. I watched a few episodes of a few others but they weren't really my kind of thing. I wouldn't mind watching another one as long as it was as fucked up as Elfen Lied.
