and a volunteer army is not in the hands of gov't?

make service mandatory for 4 years. 18-21. (most kids don't do **** at that age anyway. teaches them some responsibility and how to work instead of learning how to drink out of a beer bong in college)

non-compliance to military service leads to lost of voting rights and ability to hold a federal/state/local gov't job and office.

I own dozens of Ripper books. As for 'Best' then it depends what you want to get out of reading it.

If you want a history of the murders and a book that deals solely with facts then The Complete History of Jack the Ripper bu Phillip Sugden would by my choice.

Jack the Ripper A to Z by Paul Begg, Martin Fido, & Keith Skinner is also a good historical account of the murders.

That's from the Non-fiction book shelf of course.

I've been trying to find a Ripper doc called The World of Jack the Ripper online, but no such luck.

It's supposed to do away with all the hyperbole and deal with cold hard facts. A real Ripperologist's doc if you will.

Here's a short clip on Youtube:

As for books, I'll be purchasing these two next:

That actually looks like a decent Ripper doc. I'll let yer know if I find it. I didn't bother with the Yank one, thought it would be about a copycat killer and not the actual Ripper. And the books, I'll be adding them to me list.

I'm gonna crack this case, Laddie... I don't know how but I'm gonna do it.

Gold old-fashioned detective work - we'll drag a couple of prossies in off the streets and beat it out of them.

I've got that one. Haven't read it in a while but it's the one I'd use for reference as there's non of the creative bull**** you get elsewhere.

sure its in the hands of govt now... but to a much different extent... they still have to entice civilians to join and whatnot

give govt a free, unlimited supply of people and they will use it for anything other than the initial intent... lord only knows what it will turn into

but im not looking to get too deep into this in the lang... not to mention, im bout done for the night... but we can discuss it further in the near future!!!

Doesn't make a difference. Hardback looks more gangster on a bookshelf of course.

The hardback of War & Peace can be a lethal weapon.
