Lol. If there is no Ward/Dirrell, there is no tournament. Froch/Abraham has no title on the line, why risk such a match up if nobody else is complying to the tournament?

I don't condone Froch's actions, but i don't think he's the one to point the finger at. This is down to boxing politics. The reason why we never see the fights we want to see. But you can see why Ward and Dirrell don't want the fight now, they are the biggest stars to emerge from the super-six, a fight between the two would be worth so much more down the line.

But they both knew they'd have to face each other in the third fight of the group stages before the tournament was finalised. Why back out now?

Until something gets sorted, Froch/Abraham will be on hold. The only way i see Froch/Abe go ahead is if 1. Ward and Dirrell sign to fight.....or 2. Ward/Dirrell get stripped from the WBC vacancy for no fight which effectively ends the tournament, and Froch/Abe goes ahead for the vacant title instead.

There's way too much at stake for either fighter to just go ahead and fight when nobody has a clue where the tournament stands.
