Well, when I was stationed in England, I went to a boxing gym in Newmarket, a town about 20 minutes away from RAF Lakenheath, for about 8 months. I've always been a fan also. I love football and boxing the best followed by basketball. I'm a big guy so I thought I would give boxing a shot and I wasn't too bad in my humble opinion. How about yourself?

i watched it some as a kid and growing up me and my brothers would spare with gloves, but it was just kids messin around. i watch boxing on occassion, usually the more popular fights. i took kick boxing lessons/training and learned a lot, but never really wanted to box/fight someone. too girly i guess. didn;t want to get hit. lol! my trainer would be all padded up and just try to block my punches or kicks and try to through me off balance and what not. i liked it though cause i felt a bit empowered. kid of like a self-defense. got me in shape though. brutal training. the trainer was tough. kept thinking i would eventually get confident enough to risk real sparring... not!
lol!

its not that bad really. in sparring, we usually had 16 oz gloves, which are big and padded and we all wore headgear. the only thing that stings is learning to take it in the nose...other than that, its not too bad

at least he did teach me to box some punches and moves, but he was pretty tame and slow, never went home with bruises or anything. lol!
its a good hobby not to mention great exercise, you know
haven;t done it in a few years. apparently it's not big up here, or at least i am not finding a place that offers what i am looking for, just the cardio kickboxing (like taebo crap) and i am not looking for that.
