I'm going a open day at derby college soon. But on Salford:
Should I ring Salford and ask them what I need to do?
That is the link for the entry requirements.
I don’t have a levels or GCSE c grade or above in what they want either. If you could have a quick look for me and give me any advice... that you might know or how long it will take me to do this to enable myself to go there.
I've never heard of them at Colleges
Try and get the Prospectus booklets from the University's, they have the entry requirements on every course, they usually have a PDF version on their websites
For the Salford one you'd need A-Levels or a BTEC Diploma/Certificate, so you'd need to ring the Colleges by you to see if you could get onto possibly the National Certificate course.

Assuming I got a BTEC. Would this get me into Salford? Would that be the only course I need to do?
If I achieve my BTEC do you think Salford would seriously consider my application with just a BTEC and nothing Else?
What are the chances of getting into a university after doing a BTEC are my chances the same as someone who has done A-levels?

Certificate and National Diploma
National Diploma is the worth more, and would be enough to get you into Salford according to their site
You'd need an overall grade of Distinction, Merit, Merit which is basically ABB (BTECS hardly ever have end of term exams, so it will be all coursework which is much easier)
National Certificate is worth less, and even though they say it would be enough to get you in there with basically AAA, with the high competition to get into Uni's now it's probably a safer bet doing the Certificate and doing the Diploma after it
You might only have to do the 1 year after the Certificate to get the National Dipoloma anyway
You need to ring Derby College and see how you could work your way onto those courses, Colleges want more students because they get more money, so they will want to get you enrolled if they can
I got into University fine, doing Engineering with JUST my BTEC National Diploma
