Agreed and that's the problem, I would probably try Lescott, remember Terry made mistakes for England in his early days but grew into the role. Woodgate would be another option but as you said he is injury prone.
The problem is that Terry has now just been made captain therefore he is obviously in for the long haul.

As for England.

Once again we ended up with 5 or 6 prima donna's wanting the ball all of the time.

Gerrard was played on the left and to be fair played well but when you have Barry, Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham and Rooney all sat in around the middle of the park you will obviously achieve little.

I am a Rooney admirer but the lad needs a reality check, he is a forward and as such he should be in a position where by he can make or score goals. I lost count of the times last night were he was in the centre circle demanding the ball, his striking partners in Defoe and Heskey where left on their own fighting for scraps.
Rooney needs to be told that he not Maradona or even Messi and that he cannot beat three or fours players and score a goal.

Beckham is still an excellent player but he has resorted to attempting mediocre crosses from 35 yards out. He made his name from his deliveries in killer area's. If you cross the ball from that far out regardless of the spin and bend then you are giving the centre backs too much time.

I missed last nights game, I'm not that surprised though. With all the injuries he's suffered I feel JT isn't the same player. He's a good leader but defensively I think he's lacking. Problem is now Carragher has retired from International football there are no outstanding candidates IMO.

Lescott is good but not ready yet (Croatia game?)

Richards (still green)

Even if Carragher decided to come back there still wouldn't be an outstanding candidate. He is a good defender but no way is he an England captain. It should be Ferdinand or Gerrard I think. I agree about Terry being lacking a bit in his defensive game. He can't be questioned about his bravery and determination but his positional play isn't as good as it should be. He is lucky Carvalho is so good or Chelsea would let in quite a few more than they do.

I wasn't saying Carra should be captain, no chance. I was saying Carra would give JT some competition for his place in the England side. As it stands Rio & Jt are going to remain as our central pairing as the other candidates aren't ready yet.

Agree about Carvalho making him look good at Chelsea, I think after all the injuries JT isn't quite the same.

STFU. We came closer last time even though the manager had the most turbulent season of his illustrious career. His record speaks for itself: Valencia, Istanbul, the Stevie G Final, Athens. Then Riise ruined HIS party(CL) again. Enough said.

They did win the CL jackass. Five times, and several of the players from that team are still here or have been upgraded. Stick to knitting and playing smear the ***** you poncey yank.

BTW, one of them winners was LFC legend/reject/flop Milan Baros who puit the two new bull**** England Captains in their backpocket. Everyone knows Gerrard is well hard and when he captains, teams get to FINALS.

Both of the clubs that produced them two **** captains have peaked and are past their best! It is our year!!!!
