What sport is more popular in Mexico: Boxing or Soccer?

I obviously know Boxing is pretty much huge in Mexico, but I know Socceer (Futbol) arena's sell out a lot.

Which would be more popular though?

Futbol by a landslide. Boxing isn't even the number 2 most popular sport if you want to consider Lucha Libre a sport....

Yup, Boxing and Baseball are huge in El Norte. Soccer, not quite as much. Still very popular but not nearly as popular as it is in the Southern states. They love Soccer in the South.

Why does the poll have Boxing ahead? Boxing isn't even number two. Like people said already in the northern and gulf of mexico area, baseball is #1 and on average I'd say soccer is 2nd on that area. On the central states and west coast soccer is king and maybe boxing is second but people don't know **** about the sport here. I see more people talk about the NFL than boxing from outside of the local scene.

Lucha Libre, Boxing, Carreras de Caballos, and Baseball are the biggest in the state of Sonora where my jefes are from.

There's a decent amount of soccer fans too.

Charreria is the nation's sport but it not in even in the top five most popular sports.

In my state Jalisco which is a boxing state, there are people that know more about the nfl/nba/nbl than Boxing. Like I know many people who can name plenty of players in such leagues but when it comes to boxing their knowledge is limited to the mainstream names.

Like people would have no clue who uchiyama is, crawford or even basic ****. Like some dude actually thought Maidana was asian. People like boxing, many people do actually but most are not avid fans, even my coach don't know **** aside from our local scene.

It's kind of the same everywhere I'd assume.
