Who should Miguel Cotto fight next and why?

Cotto should fight Antonio "El Tornado de Tijuana" Margarito, plain and simple.

Cotto will get killed by Martinez, a true 160lber with that speed and power is something Cotto should avoid at all costs.

A fight with Chavez Jr would generate money and Cotto would win, but it's a wasted fight.

Angulo beats Cotto IMO because of size and style. Great fight but not much as far as a money generator.

Cotto vs Williams would be interesting but again, not much interest money wise.

Canleo vs Cotto would be big and a great fight but I don't think that fight would be on the table any time soon.

For nothing more than revenge if he really feels like Marg cheated, he should be begging for this fight.

Very good points ^^^ but why is it that we don't see top Welters or top LMW calling Miguel out? I'm sure lots of them want to fight him but they are not calling him out like everyone else wanting to fight Pac or Floyd who are not available, Cotto is one of the top money makers on the sport a huge draw on the east coast and Vegas & yet we don't see guys like Williams, Cintron, Angulo, Alvarez, Martirosyan, Ortiz, Berto, etc calling Cotto out and have a shot at a title and a good payday, the only one who really wants him is Margarito because IMO I don't think Chavez Jr. wants this fight either and Martinez should be looking on his own division or up to SMW not down to the smaller guys.

Ortiz vs. Cotto would be awesome too, but don't see that shyt happening anytime soon. I'm good with Margarito vs. Cotto II. It will answer a lot of questions.

I'm with you man, I would like to see Cotto vs Cintron I like them both, the problem I have with Cintron is his lack of self confidence & heart but this two will be trading some nice bombs at each other while it last.

I agree with you on most of what you wrote but come on homie, How can you say that Cotto va a matar a Chavez jr.?? Have you seen Cotto's last 4-5 fights?? IF you did what impressed you so much to think that he can walk though a full blown middleweight like that?? Yeah I know Chavez jr. is not all that but he is a big kid with decent power and a good chin.. You do know that Cotto is kind of small for 154 let alone at 160.. IMO Chavez jr. would beat Cotto if they fight and I am willing to bet all your points on it homie!!!!!

From what I read on this site team Margarito wants a tune up in Mexico first. This is the fight that should be made imo.

Couple of things, the reason people call out Mayweather and Pac is $$$$$$$, it's that simple. I understand Cotto has been a good draw but not compared to these two, they are the cash cows of boxing right now.

Cotto can draw big but he needs an opponent to do it, like Canelo, Marg or Chavez....you know to play on the whole Mexico vs PR thing.

I disagree with you that Chavez doesn't want Cotto, that the fight he has been waiting for his entire career. Who he doesn't want is Martinez, neither Cotto or Chavez want anything to do with that guy and I don't blame them.

Cotto vs Chavez would make big money and give Cotto the 4th title for the first PR fighter. Then I think they will want to make a big time fight with Canelo or Marg in the future. I know some think there will be a Pac vs Cotto rematch but there's no need and no demand for that fight.
