    Mase ghostwrote for Big L?

Although I try to expose myself to many of the "greats", I somehow had heard little of Big L til recently. I pulled up his wikipedia page as I'm listening to his Greatest Hits and I see that in 2005 Mase claimed that he used to ghostwrite for him.

I know that in rap groups, the person spitting the rhymes isn't necessarily the one who wrote the lyrics, but I'm having trouble seeing the album I'm listening to coming out of Mase's mouth...

    Thoughts?

I really disagree, Mase is a *****. He is taking credit meanwhile L put him on the map (and CamRon). Big L is one of the most clever MCs ever, and I easily place him Top 10. Neils if you want his debut album (which is a classic easily and really shows his skill) let me know Ill up it.

He probably wrote him a chorus for him, but I don't think Mase is the man behind Big L.
I can't understand why Mase would say something like that. They were cool with each other. I could understand if L was still alive and talking **** about Mase then it would make sense for Mase to expose that, but why would he do that? L is dead.

Yeah, I'll take it. I just downloaded the Greatest Hits, I think from Jose's thread...

I know wikipedia listed some singles as among his best that weren't on the bunch I DL'ed...

I highly doubt that, they both had different subject matter for the most part, and if it were true, then Mase definently gave L all of his good rhymes and saved few for himself.

quit talking about it like it's poetry. "subject matter" what the hell are you talking about? are you into the "message" of rap?
