Better MC: Cube or Jay-Z?

I'm looking forward to hearing what some of you will say. My personal take on this, Jay obviously made a lot more money but Cube influenced the likes of Scarface & 2Pac while Jay influenced the likes of mediocres Joe Budden & Fabolous. They both have tremendous longevity, including Cube who can still make nice tracks such as ****** Vet, etc.

Cube started Gangsta Rap while Jay hasn't really started any trends. Discuss.

When Cube was at his best he had more influence over Hip-Hop and culture than Jay-Z will ever have. There was something more to Cube you knew he was saying something, You dont really get that feeling from Jay-Z.

Jay-Z could never make a song like ****** Vet

I've got to go with Jay-Z in terms of wit, lyrical intelligence and ability, but I think Cube has more passion, a better sounding voice and is superior when coming hard, he was one of the most menacing MC's of all time.

Overall, I'd probably say Jay-Z.

I'd take Jay-Z in a freestyle competition, but Ice Cube puts more feeling into his writing and emotion through his lyrics.

I actually prefer early 1990s Ice Cube to anything Jay-Z has done

Especially the more recent stuff, Ice Cube has a very predictable rhyme style and hasn't said anything important on an album for awhile. Overall better MC is likely Jay-Z...

two different styles, so its hard to compare. Jayz is more of the MC while Cube is a straight up rapper. both have legacies that are undisputed. Where Cube shines is in his delivery, JayZ is more of the clever wordsmith.
