When I saw Lil Wayne rapping next to Floyd when he made his ring entrance I thought I never heard anything like that. That sounded like complete g****age to me. Here is my thing: I like one song of Lil Wayne which is "Drop the World" and I think the song is good, deep, just a really good song. So I listened to a few other songs of him and didn't like none of it.
Then I thought of Jay Z and there is also one song of him I really found very good: Numb (Encore) which is actually a Linkin Park song if I am not mistaken. I checked out quite a few other Jay Z songs and thought they were all horrible. I mean, it is just my opinion and I know Jay Z is super rich and there are millions who think his songs are awesome.
Is it possible that young people are so much influenced by the music they hear in their youth and they are exposed to the same music and when they listen to it long enough they sing it's cool? Because I don't understand how so many rap songs are really bad (in my opinion) and still millions of teenagers buy that stuff.
I think the music industry influences the music taste of young people. They play certain rap songs on MTV, the radio etc and those young people are programmed to think this is good music.
Your thoughts?
