Jay-Z- overrated or underrated?

Wouldnt call Jay Z a top 5 mc ever, Top 10 for me would be pushing it, he probally wouldnt make the list. But I am a fan, I respect what he has done and enjoy his music.

JayZ is so overrated. not all of his songs are good and people act like hes a damn legend

Anyway you slice it Jay-Z is one of the greats and did great things for the industry plus he's stayed on top of his game throughout his career. You can definately see a maturation of his style in each album not because he's sold out but because his living a different lifestyle from album to album and he's writing his experiences.

i don't see how people say KRS-1 and rakim are the best when they generally rap slower and more simply than someone like jay-z. some of jay-z's rhyme's have like metaphors squared. while rakim is all simple rhymes from what i've heard

maybe nwa, krs and rakim fans are living in the past or too simple minded to appreciate some of jay-z's masterpieces. he is so complex when he's not even trying

jay-z is much smarter than them and is more talented musically than them. they sound like the fakers even if they are real Gs
