    Thats cool and all,

I'm just not fond of rewriting history to make someone appear greater than they are.

Jay Z had no part in Hiphop gaining worldwide appeal because it was already established by the time he came onto the scene.

I wouldn't say Jay is wack,

hes just not as great as people make him out to be.

His constant biting takes him down considerably.

To me Nas is better because his music is more timeless. I cant remember the last time i had an "urge" to listen to hard knock life vol 2 or life and times vol 3, not that either of them are bad albums...vol 3 is actually slept on i think, but i just cant listen to some of his older stuff like i used too. The same thing happened to me with Biggie

Nas on the other hand...I still like to listen to it was written, nastradamus, and I am...his music is timeless with me, I have listened to these 3 cds for 10 years or more and I can still listen to them now. Illmatic...I dont even need to say anything about that, it speaks for itself. 2Pac has also made more timeless music in my opinion then Jay-z and Biggie. And again, lets not get twisted...Im not sayin that biggie and jay-z haven't made some timeless music, the key words are that 2pac and Nas made MORE timeless music, which acknowledges the fact that Biggie and Jay-z made timeless music, just not as much.

its all what you like...someone who is into nas's style more is going to like nas more than jay-z. for the record, i love nas too.

honestly i dont even like having greatest of all time. to me its unfair.....as much as i love jay-z's work...i feel like i'm discrediting other rappers by calling him the g.o.a.t. hes not the only one who deserves credit. Nas can be looked at as the best too, so could 2-pac. thats why i try to get rid of the ranking of rappers from my life atleast. although its fun tho

I agree, there are way too many variables to consider.

Many MCs could be that guy based on all different kinds of ****, it just depends on what you're looking at.

If I had to make a top 5,

                Cube
                KRS
                Nas
                Rakim
                LL

and that can always change depending on my mood.

Big as ill an MC as he was, is in the same vein as D.O.C., career just too short.

i just respect everybody so much. even guys like krs one and rakim. they could even be argued as the best. so i take back what i said earlier about jay-z being the best, i have no best. i respect them all. now i know others dont want to do that, thats fine, but thats how i want to do it.

i mean unless your just talking skill alone, then you could make that argument.
