I have a question...do you ever question whether your doing..

something wrong by listening to rap. like for example, I believe in god and jesus. and i'm a clean guy, i'm not into criminal activities etc. but yet i love rap like Wu-Tang, Shyne, Nas, Jay-Z etc. and i'm cool with that, because i know right from wrong. and i believe a person should be judged by their actions and their heart more than what music they listen to. lol but then i read on these religious websites that in order to get to heaven you have to be perfect. but honestly, whos perfect? even if i wasnt listening to violent rap music, i'd be doing something else bad like playing violent video games. or watching violent sports like boxing. i'm a young guy i like aggressive content at times, i dont want to listen to smiles and joy 24/7. I guess the truth of religion is kind of annoying because you basically have to be perfect, and how can you do that in this world? i'm happy with who i am, but people make me feel insecure...lol

    u know what i mean?

I never feel bad about things like that but that's because I'm not a religious person. I'm a spiritual person. I don't believe in church (organized religion). At most I believe in intelligent design, I definitely don't believe a single diety created everything and is in charge, keeping tabs on what we do down here on earth. As long as I live my life in a manner that is acceptable to myself and my own beliefs whatever created me (and this is a stretch because I don't think any specific diety created me or the world) has to be ok with it.

I get what your saying but no I never question it. If a religion starts getting in the way of what you do and not do, it becomes a problem for me personally. Like if a religion says I have to go to church 4 days a week, and each day, I'm expected to take $ out of my pocket to put in the "basket" etc, then I'm not doing it. No.

but you say you like rap, do you even know why you like it?

well when i was in middle school i listened to rock, but i noticed that most of the rock i liked was mixed with rap. i was drawn to hip hop music, but some people told me your white, you cant listen to that. then eminem came out and broke the racial boundry. and it became acceptable for whites to listen to rap. from eminem i expanded to nas, jay etc. (i could keep going)

I just like the sound of rap. i like beats, rhymes, flows. i'm not really a rock guy etc. rap is what i've been listening to for 10 years now. i just like hearing about the rags to riches stories over sick beats. that is inspiring to me.

                  WTF?

You never heard of 3rd Bass? Rick Rubin? Beastie Boys? House of Pain? Dj Muggs?

Cmon man, I know you're a bit young, but you can't really think of that as truth.

as to your question, the only time I ever question myself if what I'm doing when my kids are around, depending on who I'm listening to.

As a parent, you have to have values and know that there are some things that are just unacceptable for children. I know many of the younger guys here will say, "I'll never hide anything from my kids",

                  but most often,

they don't have children to hide anything from and are still developing their own minds as well.
