"It's my last album [for Def Jam] so I wanted to do the album I always wanted to do," Ghost explained in an interview. "You gotta tell the fans that you not gettin' no younger here, we gettin' older! And everybody don't sell crack no more, man. I don't sell crack, yo. I ain't movin' no bricks or none of that other ****. I ain't shoot nobody in like since the early 90's, man. How long you gonna be 40 years-old and actin' like you still sellin' cracks and you on the block and you doin' this and you doin' that when times is more serious, man...And the fans gotta stop bein' so dumb and ignorant, and know it's time to talk about grown-man situations. **** that happen in the real life, inside your household, your love life, your personal life, that's just like, 'D*mn, it's hard for a n*gga to get some money!' It might be so hard to get some money that your girl might wanna leave you someday because you ain't get no money like you like you used to be gettin' money! Those are real situations, so I think it should start goin' back to songs that mean ****. All that other **** outside is just gonna keep us dumb, deaf and blind, yo, and we ain't never gonna get nowhere." (UnKut)-Ghostface Killah

Gotta respect that. We don't wanna hear 40-50 year old rappers rap about bitches, money and gunfights.. it's cool he goes the R&B way.

if it's like Nas - Not going back where he sort of reflects on it and his position it's cool
But rappers in their 50's acting all gangster gangster.. kinda reminds me of Eminem in Nail in the Coffin when he says ''nobody wants to hear their grandfather rap''

I'm gonna laugh if he actually blows up on the mainstream scene off this R&B album.

Because the older these legends get the further away they get from their roots because of the money and fame. so the realism in their lyrics sort of dissapear. Jay-Z's is a good example of that because he didn't do much since Blueprint. Peoples priorities change with age and so does the artist music. (hopefully) Also I would say it depends on how he rap about the crack dealing buisness..

I agree with what your saying....however The Black Album in my opinion was a classic, and in my opinion just as good as the blueprint. and american gangster was 4.5/5 in my opinion. also the blueprint 2 was solid.
