Not enough Nas or Wu Tang. No Brand Nubian or Roots? This list is pretty bad. Where's 'Ice Ice Baby'?

          Wu-Tang- CREAM
          2Pac- California Love
          Biggie- Juicy
Ice Cube- It Was A Good Day
          Eazy - E - Boyz N The Hood
Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Doggy Dogg - Nuthin' But A G Thang
          Warren G - Regulate
          Snoop Dogg- Doggy Dog World
          2Pac- Keep Yah Head
Eric B and Rakim- Pain In Full
Notorious BIG, Puff Daddy & Mase - Mo Money Mo Problems
          Nas- The World is Yours

Okay here's my top 10 even though it's 12. All of these could legitimately make a top ten list. It is really hard to condense this list. There were a lot of great songs/single in the 90's. And this list is west coast heavy. No biased being showed it's just that the gangsta sound was felt in a heavy way in the 90's.

Yeah it's covered. KCal 9 will probably air all of the preseason games in Hawaii. Should be a fun season. Hopefully it ends with gold.

I think any list has to include:

                  I Used to Love HER
                  Nature of the Threat
Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos
                  Fight The Power
                  TROY
                  Rappers Delight
                  Walk This Way
                  Eric B. is President
                  Nuthin But a G Thang
                  The Message

Those are 10 universally great/influential/historic songs in hip hop. Neils you put together a good list for 100 songs off the top. I think I did that before quite awhile back, I'll try and find it.

Kid N Play is better than a few people on that list, including 50 cent.

I think what vh1 means when it makes lists like this is "most classic" not "greatest".

There are some great singles out there from some bad artists; I even would have included Snow's "Informer" but I didn't consider it 'rappy' enough, same as stuff off of Kid Rock's first major album etc.

Memorable, catchy, danceable, fun, lasting...there are different criteria ranking singles vs. albums and artists for sure...

You'll never see me doing a tough critique, listing Sir Mix A Lot on a "Best of" anything...
