The Gza genius is very underrated. He dropped some classic material just go listen to Liquid Swords and Beneath the Surface. He always real creative and crafty with the way he constructs his verses. Another underrated guy is Talib Kweli a fierce emcee out of Brooklyn check out Ear Drum the best release so far this year.

    Verse One: The Genius

    Yo
    Picture bloodbaths and elevator shafts
Like these murderous rhymes tight from genuine craft
Check the print, it's where veterans spark the letterings
Slow moving MC's is waitin for the editin
The liquid soluble that made up the chemistry
A gaseous element, that burned down your ministry
    Herbal vapors, and biblical papers
Smokin Exodus, every square yard is plush
**** the screw-faced photo sessions facial expression
leaves impressions, try to keep a shark ***** guessin
Give crazy shouts Son here's the outcome
Cut across the semi-gloss rhymes you floss
**** is outdated, just like neckloads of Sterlings
    Suede-fronts, bell-bottoms, and tri-colored Shearlings
    I ain't particular, I **** like vehicular homicides
    on July 4th in Bed-Stuy
Where money don't grown on trees and there's thievin MC's
    Who cut-throat to rake leaves
They can't breathe, blood splash, rushin fast
like runnin rivers, I be that whiskey in your liver

    Talib Kweli
These cats is no match, plus they lack a certain knack for rapping
They never catch the wagon like Re-run and "What's Happening"
Since back when they had potty issues and snotty tissues we been rockin
Think you poppin next year nobody will miss you
My thoughts is too advanced for the artists on these labels
They come sweeter than sabal and softer than mashed potatoes
I tried to told you the rhymes run over emcees like Land Rovers
Took 'em back in time like Sankofa, Sankofa

We stand over the Atlantic, looking broad like a man's shoulders
The fire is trapped in a belly, ready to pop like canned soda
    We outlasting, from middle passage
    Touched down in New York
Cincinnatay! Big Ohio status what you thought
Money it's classic these bastards try to treat us like cattle
So life has been a constant battle, battle
Rising above the crabs in the barrel
Way too used to living in death's shadow
We stay on point like the best arrow, arrow
    We hit the target accurate
    Star ****, back it up
When we hit town, y'all *****s pack it up
That's how we get down, straight smash it up
    Like a whip, hydroplaning
Hydro on the brain and maintaining
Game changing into subtle ****, we remain blatant
Yo, got to tell you to your face
You get replaced in this game, by Kweli
Place the face with the name
These cats drink champagne and toast to death and pain
Like ****** on a ship talking about who got the flyest chain

Slick Rick is criminally underrated and he seems to simply have become a name that people drop when Britian or story telling is brought up just to look like they know what they are talking about. He should be, he deserves to be treated like an all out great, because he is. He brought way more to rap than story telling. He brought a swagger and a sense of humour that didn't exist before him and is still copied today. Along with Rakim, no other rapper is sampled and quoted more than Rick.

What is symbolic of this is when you type 'Lodi Dodi' into google, you get snoop, everlast and even Korn etc, but you don't get Slick Rick. I'm not saying this because I'm British, because I don't really identify with him as being such.

Kool Moe Dee is much the same only in reguards to battling.

Masta Ace... ****, I just feel sorry for him. At least Rick and KMD get the 'psuedo' props, Ace gets **** all and was consistantly sick from start to finnish. Probably has a top 3 story telling track in Block Episode.

took the words out of my mouth, ace has consistanly dropped quality albums for damn near 2 decades... yet, when i talk to people about him, first thing out there mouth is "who?".... i have to explain that he was in the juice crew, started off the symphony.... if they dont know the juice crew, i walk away.

I agree with GZA, I just don't see how people rate Method Man above him. He's my second favourite member from Wu Tang after Ghostface.
