Hiphop has had comic book toned music for a number of years. Old Fresh Prince, Kid 'n Play, Fat Boys...

The Fat Boys?! that was a completely different era man, It strains the brain to even make that kind of comparison. I wouldn't call Kid N Play comic book rap at all, just light rap. Fresh Prince was comic book rap ofcourse. People use the term "bubble gum" music. But bubble gum music is innocent and feel good and Eminem's stuff is never like that (infact it's usually depressing when you think about what he's actually talking about). Personally I think if Eminem had just commited to being a real rap jester or something alot of us would like him more. That would probably work with the kind of voice he has too.

His first radio single per album is like that, minus some swear words. It's how he keeps his videos at the top of TRL and gets folks to buy the album the first week. Obviously his music can get much more depressing and much more dark. Anyone who thinks a song like "Kim" is bubblegum music is a psychopath...(smilie)

Eminem was good before he starting farting on tracks and making weird noises. When Eminem was angry, thats when he was good. I wish he'd get angry again...lol
