They're are good rappers, everywhere. Period. The east coast are just jealous as hell.

First and foremost everybody must know that I got love for the South. Before they was poppin', I had Three-Six Mafia on my first single. That was on my album 3 years ago before they blew up. I have always supported T.I. since day one. Eightball and Ludacris, etc. have got love shown. But a fact is a fact, everybody down there ain't lyricists. Some *****z make good music, some of them are Hip-Hop. Three-Six Mafia is Hip-Hop. UGK is Hip-Hop. Scarface, Ludacris, Eightball & MJG is Hip-Hop. There is a lot more and please don't say I'm dissin' you if I didn't mention your name
Kay Slay aint ******..if he say the wrong name his tapes will be history...Kinda like Dj Magic Mike

Afterward People like Nas tried to put the gangsta thing in it's right perspective (in a traditional east Coast social consciousness perspective) but he was eclipsed by others.

Rappers from the south get a lot of hate because their music has very low substance. Other than club songs, other form of songs are rarely or if not produced. Their lyrical content is very weak and doesnt really produce any social conscious music. When Nas released "hip hop is dead" why was it that the south got mad first? Nas never mentioned the south or any region when he released that title. In a way, its like admitting that they knew that they were killing the art.

I don't think that the south is killing hip hop. More recently there have always been wack artists that sell. They come from everywhere not just the south. It just so happens to be the sound that mainstream likes at the moment. If New York comes back there will just be a plethora of wack emcees that come along trying to use the same formula. Remember it is not the region that is killing hip hop it is the mainstream that loves to flood the air waves with the same ****.
