Defunding the police was an idiotic phrase used to describe proposed changes to how police go about doing their job. Police are necessary. However there are well documented cases of excessive force and in some jurisdictions downright corruption in police departments not only in the US but all over the world. Diverting some resources to implement change is not defunding the police. Politicizing it on both sides of the political spectrum isn't helpful and it's demoralizing to the police and to the people.Comment
