They are self-sufficient. Someone comes in there with a common cold and who knows what it would do to their immune system. A simple virus could kill them.

Pretty impressive that no one could take them over or even investigate their island on land.

But they are also missing the good the modern world enjoys.

Things like dental medicine, for example. Imagine a tooth infection, and all the tools you have on hand are sharp sticks and rocks and no painkillers?

Imagine delivering children in those conditions.

No other modern medicine or conveniences. No hot showers, no Ben-Gay, no Tylenol, no footwear, no Pepto-Bismol, no washing machines, no prepackaged food or drinks, no coolers or fridges, and on and on.


Yes, there's a part of you that has to envy them. But you have to realize their life isn't utopia either.

But you have to let them choose. It still amazes me because in this world we have very few choices when it comes to government.

Why can't they just let those that want to live off the land be? All Americans should have that choice without some Karen saying, " hey we have to help them!".
