As someone who has seen friends die horrible deaths through no fault of their own eg genetic illness aged only 18 I think it's all chance.

I believe in God but at least in the next life these souls have peace and are suffering no more.

He doesn't, the test is for us so that when we argue with His judgment of our life he can show us the evidence when we stand before His throne

He knows whether we would pass the test or not. Even before we took the test. Some folks fail the test so horribly that it harms others. Why did He still go ahead and create those folks?
