How on earth would this work? These lefties want to abolish police/prisons? WTF do they think will happen?

Lefties, please educate me, how will abolishing police departments and prisons improve society? Surely mob rule will quickly take over?

Yep it will be every man for himself.The pushback would result in the long talked about race war.******* whites would back the looters but that would soon change when rich who can afford their own security soon find that security won’t be enough ditto for people like lebron James who wants rid of police .When there are no laws or rules the rich will be done in by their own over greed or any insult or any sleight that comes their way.Seems like a lot people ought to be careful they might get what they want.

I think we should abolish policing, but only in the areas that are wealthy..... Hollywood and these gated communities...... see how these lefties like it when the riots are on their doorstep, instead of downtown and poor neighbourhoods.

Dont think it will work.You need law and order otherwise you get anarchy.Many society's even prior to the formation of the police had their own ways of metering justice .

In the late 1960s as you maybe aware police went on strike in Canada. Looting's/arsonists etc .They had to bring in the army to quell the disorder. Things got so out of hand that eventually the police were reinstated.

In a society of any size, laws and law enforcement is a must. That should go without saying, otherwise, we'd have chaos with the bad elements of society running rampant without fear of retribution or consequence.

Don't get me wrong. It would be fantastic if we could all just "get along" and help each other, not wrong each other, etc.; but the fact is we just ain't there, yet....nowhere near "there".

I think we need to take a serious second look at our justice system and weed out a lot of "victimless crimes" from the roster, as well as take a serious look at policing policies.....the training regiments these officers go through to prepare them for the street. There should be a huge difference in being a soldier and being a police officer. I think that's something which has been forgotten in recent years...and that's part of the problem we're seeing.

So, in short: Reform - Yes, Abolish - No.

The way policing is done and the laws they are being told to enforce need to be looked at; but abolishing the wall between civilization and chaos would be a huge mistake.

I completely agree mate, good post.

Some of the prison sentences in America are daft, like years in prison for minor drug crimes etc, and i agree that there's too much police brutality and racism. I think some reform is necessary, but removing law enforcement and prisons sounds insane to me, and i suspect to the majority of normal people.

Nobody is coming for your podunk police departments. Any govt entity that no longer serves the will of the people should be disband, defunded, abolished and replaced. Stop fear mongering. If you scared just say you scared
