My little brother made a lot of money playing online poker for about 8 or 9 years, then it shut down in 2011, he had to go to other countries to play. He did it for a year, then got tired of the traveling, so he went back to college and got his degree now he's in a completely different line of work.

Anyways do guys playing online poker in the USA still get paid like the old days or is it still radically different still?

Nah it's not the same at all. I remember when you could win a grand, withdraw it & go down to the local Western Union & pick it up the same day. It's a lot more bells n whistles now & the sites are much smaller & the sketchiness of the sites waaaay higher. I only know a couple ppl who've kept afloat with the US sites since 2011. Most either left the country to play on the bigger, more legit sites or moved on from poker.

I talked to my brother about this a few days ago and I told him the Poker community messed up by not lobbying with money on Capitol Hill to get what they want.

For example, I'm part of the vaping community, so when we heard news that our vaping community was in danger and that the ***** Administration was putting in what we called "Deeming" Laws we got together and used our money to influence change, we also got together with marches and protests, this also extended to the ***** Administration too. What happened, they laid off, for now. Vapers and the vaping business got together.

My brother told me the Poker community is too selfish for that kind of action, it's more like a bunch of mercenaries than a real community, because that's the nature of the poker mindset. I went on the 2x2 Poker forums and looked around the threads to see if the community was thinking of some sort of action. And I have to say I was disappointed that the community was sitting around and waiting for some kind of politician to help them out, for instance they were talking about Andrew Yang and that he was cool with online poker fully coming back to the USA. I'm thinking you can't wait for someone to rescue you. There's a defeatist attitude there. Where everyone was saying online poker is virtually dead in the USA and wont' be like the old days.

Anyways, just my 2 cents.
