Greatest Athletes of Past 20 years.

In light of the Kobe passing, I was having a convo with my buddy and we agreed Kobe has to be probably top 5, absolutely top 10 greatest/influential athletes of the past 20 years.

We’re talking athletes in general. So it got me thinking, who would fill out a list of top 10 greatest/influential athletes of the past 20 years?

I don’t have a number to place them in yet but for sure I’d throw in:

    Kobe Bryant
    Lebron James
    Tom Brady
    Floyd Mayweather
    Lionel Messi

Who else do u think would fill out a Top 10 greatest/influential athletes list of the past 20 years?

    Mariusz Pudzianowski.

Note: I am just naming athletes, they are in no real order plus? People below me in this thread have named afew others that I would of wrote etc

Lionel Messi can't be top 5. Cuz idk who the f#ck he is to the point of what sport he plays & I'm a very casual sports fan who only hears of these guys cuz I've heard their name by others a billion times in sportsbooks or in casual conversation. The other 4 sound right or in the conversation doe.

Is Pudz the weightlifter/strongman turned MMA guy? I only heard of him post-MMA but it definitely sounds like he was a badass in his former sport.

Kershaw in his prime is definitely on the list as well.

Won't see pitching like that anytime soon.

Yes he was a strongman athlete, I believe he has won the world strongest man title the most times in history etc What stood out about him was? His conditioning & endurance/athleticism 'Abit of a throw back in that sense, a lot of these strongmen NOW don't really seem to have that combination'.

But yes some really strong guys still 'I don't watch it that much anymore etc'

No list of athletes would be complete without mentioning Joey Chestnut, one of America's greatest men.
