I will admit that I am the one who is asked to be the decision maker, but again, this is because I don't give up, get us where we need to be, and have the stomach for it. Its not that I own something that does not belong to the rest of my family.

We have separate accounts, and a joint account. Primarily separated though. However, I made sure she wrote down passwords to a lot of my accounts like savings and stock accounts incase tragedy strikes, and I pass away. But in day to day use, she has no idea how much money I work with.

Really depends on how solid you think your marriage is. Mine has access to my primaries but not my discretionary accounts where I keep some money. If life happens I don’t want my wife asking or needing for shhht. If you have kids though it might be considered reckless not to give her access, something happens to you and that shhh can easily get tied up in legalese and your kids might end up going without for years depending on circumstances.
