    Quitting new job

I recently graduated college with a bachelors in accounting. I stayed at my job that i had during college which was being a server for a few months after graduation.
After a while i got pretty impatient with finding a job so I hit my buddy up who works at a logistics company that works with rail car shipments. I got the job and was pretty excited because i was fed up with being a server. Anyway i started, and a couple weeks in i’m regretting being so hasty. It’s something completely unrelated to what i studied, so i don’t have any interest in it, and i’m not finding myself in this office culture. In short, i can’t see myself doing this. If i quit, Ialways have a back up job at the restaurant.

What do you boys say, trust your instincts and quit, or tough it out and see if you like it?

Edit: I understand accounting is office culture as well, but atleast it’s something i busted my ass in college for to understand.

What he said, plus you’re still in that office culture.

A lot of people find that they end up in a field that they didn’t study for.

Skills are transferable, if you don’t like offices, you might find that when the excitement of getting your first accounting role wears off pretty soon.

If you know accountancy, you’ve got a head start on most first time business owners.

          This.

Accounting is a great degree to have for freelancing for small businesses and if you are lucky some big ones too. F#ck working for some sh^tty company. Work WITH many companies and set your own wage & hours. Might take some time to work on your sales pitch and acquire customers so working some job you hate or isnt ideal might be required but you should be able to sustain yourself on your accounting degree within 6ish months Id guesstimate.

And even if you do find a company that will employee you for accounting Id work the freelance angle in your free time with that being your long term focus so you arent beholden to corporate bs & control your own destiny.

          Good luck bruh.

Lmao at bad advice here... "start a business".. wtf. OP is a recent grad, where will he get the money.. nor does he have the experience yet to run one..

My advice is NOT to quit your job YET. In many cases employers prefer to hire those who are currently employed.. so look for a entry level job related to your degree while still employed.. make up an excuse being absent if you have an interview..only in extreme circumstance where this current job is interfering with your job search should you quit..
