I'd rather scratch my eye out with a lobster claw instead of watching de niro i found him particularly irksome in the limitless film.

His portrayal in Serpico still one of my faves.
The thing is, I LIKE Pacino. He's FUN. I can imagine De Niro being as much fun as his mole.

Here's my De Niro count by decade... what's YOURS?
1960s: 6 movies, don't believe I've seen any (mainly bit parts) though I've seen that butchered edit of "Sam's Song".
1970s: 13 movies, I think I've only seen four. Though to put this in perspective, if we consider Mean Streets as his breakout role, then the first half a dozen were pre-Mean Streets. All 4 I've seen are stone cold classics including, obviously, Taxi Driver.
1980s: 12 movies, there's some serious omissions here as I've never seen The Mission or The Untouchables (I know, I know...) I've seen 8 of them. Early signs of "comedy" from Bobby here, as he mugs his way through We're No Angels, and True Confessions is just average, TV Movie type filler. The rest, though... Raging Bull, King of Comedy, Brazil (even if he's just a cameo in that)... classics.
1990s: 24 movies. You see the difference there? Sure, he's now a "star", but almost as many movies as the previous two decades put together. That said, there's some solid work in there, too. I think I've seen 15 of these, and with stuff like Goodfellas (a great movie, though surely a given for a thread called "most overrated movies of all time"?) and Casino, plus underrated movies like Cop Land, he's still on solid form here. The only thing that always pissed me off is in Ronin where he talks about the SAS being based in "Her Ford" or something. (We pronounce it "Herry Fud"... why did no one tell the daft cunt? Not a biggee, just bugs me).
2000s: 19 movies. Now, it's tempting to say this is when he got ****e, but I've only seen six of these, I think. That said, the ones I HAVE seen - from Meet The Analysts or whatever the **** it's called - to Godsend, a film which was so bad it made me want to cut my own **** off and rewatch Saturday's Biily Joe Saunders fight - suggests that his choices aren't as considered.
2010s: 28 to date. TWENTY EIGHT. I've seen just five. To be fair, they were actually all decent, and he even seemed like he gave a **** in some of them. But I don't know about the other 23 I haven't seen. There's a chance that Dirty Grandpa and Little ****ers could knock Citizen Kane off the critics' top spot, but I haven't seen them to be sure.

Awakenings with him and Robin Williams is a really good movie where he plays a different character. I actually just watched Ronin for the first time last night. His character in that wasn’t great but that was an awesome movie

A top star worth megabucks can't turn down dogshat films which he surely would if he could.
