I killed a 5m Black Mamba with just a stone

I went to Africa and while just walking around in the bush I heard a slithering sound and the next thing saw a snake with its head raised high. I was with a friend and from documentaries I knew we had to change our position. I moved 20m and next thing the snake was where we guys had been. I picked a stone and aimed at it. Didn’t miss the heard and the snake was dead. The snake was 5m long, no guns just a stone. Half of you guys would have ****ted your pants because a Mamba is not like other snakes. It’s very harsh and exceptionally fast. What would you have done?

What would I have done? I wouldn't have been walking around in the African bush in the first place.

You are being sacarstic right? A Mamba is not a toy. It can kill 16 full grown men.

Nope. I'm not a hunter. If I hike it's typically on well established trails in the Northeast, or along Coastal California when I was living there. Grand Canyon, Saguaro National Park, etc. If I encounter a rattler or other snake I'm backing away slowly. I would have some sort of walking stick with me to put some distance between us. Otherwise, I have no reason to be out in the bush.
