Its like let me take the absolute minimum wage and apply it to the most expensive housing parts of the state and then say, Look! People Can't Afford Housing! For a nice juicy article.
Yup pretty much. I thought everyone has a degree these days anyway lol.

I'd like people to explain to me how min wage in Sacramento CA is 11hr and fast food places are starting out at 17hr?
My daughter and I were eating and they were going table to table passing out cards saying, starting out at 17.50 hr. They're begging people. That's a good wage for fast food!

I think there's a lot of factors in play here. Where you live is a big one. We all know everyone wants what they can't afford. Then add two income family or roommate and you're good.

Funny part is when people are walking around with Jordans and the latest phone. Lol

$17.90 at 40 hours a week $716 before taxes, say $560 after federal and state tax comes out the check, thats $2240 a month.

Here are some craigslist links to 1 bedrooms in Tennessee.

      $790 a month

Here is a single family 4 bedroom home for $984

Switching gears, here is the home of the show The Office, ie Scranton PA,

      1 Bedroom apartment is $650.

      Another one for $510

Mark this day on the calendar, I actually agree with the both of you!

A big factor is people don't have their priorities straight. Back in the 80's and early 90's, you could blame people not being educated or not having the resources to find work or somewhere to live but these days finding a place to live is as simple as looking on craigslist.

People these days just don't think right. I am far from an intelligent person, in fact Id wager I am on the lower side of average BUT any simple minded person with some drive can keep a roof over their head. I was a teenage father (19) and I remember renting a $500 apartment in Lake Elsinore for my 18yo GF and I. I worked security while being in the Marine Reserves and never missed my rent. We ate a lot of quesadillas and potato's...

Nowadays, I make a pretty good living at my day job but I have 4 kids, 2 being teens and 1 soon to be teen. My life is very expensive BUT when times got tight, I went and got a part time job. Most people these days expect money to appear when in reality its there but it must be earned.

Props to you and yes it's noted hahaha.

Im right there with ya man. I would bet a lot of us have more in common than we know.

I'm not the smartest guy in the room. My passion just drives me. Sometimes I read what I type and think what was I thinking lol.

***** is a loud mouth and there's times I like it and times I don't. I just think he wants to keep Americans on the right path. I know a lot don't agree and I'm ok with that.

In the end we're all just trying to live the best lives we can and want the best for our kids.

I don't care what race you are or where you're from. We ALL have our struggles.

thats a bold faced lie, where are they talking about Beverly Hills?
That's less that $3,000/month GROSS. Got to cost $1000/month in almost any city (not NYC, not SF) for even a cheap 1 bedroom apartment. You'd be left with $2000 PRETAX
to live on per month. Maybe you'd have $1600 net to work with. If you're living in a large city, think $1500/month rent.
            Or NYC think $4000/month rent.

How much would a 2 bed room apartment (I'm assuming you'd have either a roommate or a child or two) in Sacramento?

Just asking....I don't know. Here in Dallas an average for a 1 bed room is $1100/month.

There are A LOT of opportunities out there for people to make $ especially with these Tariffs, money will start coming back to the USA. The service industries will have big opportunities, so any business minded people should take notice.

Here is some info about where people live in the US

Big percentage living in large cities or suburbs of large cities, where housing in more expensive. Scranton? Who the hell lives in Scranton?

Rent and housing in the Dallas Fort Worth area (North Texas) has really ZOOMED upwards the past 5-8 years. Used to be a cheap place to live but it's caught up with the rest of the US.

Hard to find a $250,000 house for sale.
