iphone was the smartphone that went mainstream. i know there were other phones with touchscreen, but its jobs who made it mainstream.

You might wanna throw Linus Torvalds in there, another huge draw and also probably could be seen as the A-side

Whilst the late great Jobs and Gates were selling their Apple and Microsoft creations, Linus was giving Linux away for free.

Its still free and in many different flavourz and variants.

Definatley a contender, if not a heavy favourite.

Bill Gates by far. Steve Jobs was an expert Salesman but his engineering buddy Wozniak is actually far more impactful than him but he'll never get the credit from most.

I don't believe Steve Jobs hardly did anything for charitable causes. Look at what Bill Gates has and is doing. The man has donated outrageous sums of money to charitable causes, saved many many lives.
