I have two millennial daughters but they were raised OLD SCHOOL by me and the wife. Meaning they have a work ethic, they don't think the world revolves around them, they hate Starbucks, and believe all music after
    1990 sucks.

I had some dreams; they were clouds in my coffee, clouds in my coffee.

You can't blame fiscal policy on the boomers. That is a gov't issue.

Man those guys ****ed the economy up and now it's us who has to live with it.

My Dad walked onto a building site aged 15 and by the time he was 19 he owned his own business with a yard and two trucks!

Homeowner at 21, and enjoying nice annual month long vacations to here there and everywhere.

**** ain't like that no more

I have a pretty decent job but really in the grand scheme of things i don't get paid ****. It'd take me decades to outright buy even a cheap house.

They also got two huge inheritances which they blew through on nice cars, cruises etc.

No clue what it's like to start from scratch in the current financial climate, none at all.
As a boomer myself, well, hmmmmm.... I need time.... maybe years to try to refute what you just wrote.

My son, kinda implies the same things, but I haven’t been listening. Thanks!

A whole new way of looking at things.

Even avg manual loborors bought homes. I’m a boomer. But, my uncles who worked at factory jobs, tow truck driver bout nice homes in San Jose, before Silicon Valley real estate prices went crazy.. they bought new cars every few years.

I’ve spent a lot of time blaming millennial, but, I’m seeing things a lil differently, little by little.

100% and i dont know the ins and outs of it.

My dad had a "worse" job than I did and my mum didnt work at all but they were a lot better off than anyone i know at my age.

By the age of 30 they were comfortable middle class with a freehold house and two cars in a decent neighbourhood

Youd REALLY struggle to do that on a dual income now with your wife/girlfriend also working full time.

Best thing you can do is try help your kids out if you can.

See the thing with my parents is they were genuinley selfish even though they were set up with house, cars and 100s of 1000s in the bank they refused to help me pay for college so i couldnt go.

Thing is ive spent the last few years working overseas and travelling because **** it, im never going to afford a house anyway so why not have fun.

Funny thing is now im late 20s my mum is getting concerned that i havent married, had kids, settled down but im like mum i cant afford to raise a family, i can afford to get by on my own thats it!

So i think now she regrets not setting up a college fund and helping me out with a first house deposit etc.

Lead paint and lead gasoline. That's the only reason I can come up with to explain why they are the way they are
