If you noticed in the past year or so many large companies have named a woman of color to high up executive positions. This is because US government contracts are awarded now with consideration to underrepresented minority run companies. If you don't have a token, you won't get the contracts you rely upon. I'm pretty sure this isn't the "equality" civil rights leaders were talking about 50 years ago.

Believe this, my university has gone from several white presidents to several black presidents to recently a female to right now an Indian dude. If you trace the timeline of when these changes occur & take a look at what is going on in society... comparisons can be drawn.
