I'd say the one that really got me was A Nightmare on Elm Street. Saw it when I was pretty young.
Hard to narrow it down, but The Thing and The Shining are up there.

the original exorcist is the only "horror film" that ever truly scared me..
altho exorcism of emily rose was good too but not that scary.

But I remembered they re-released like 2000 and I swear everyone in the theater including me just laughed

Yeah, Stephen King didn't like Kubrick's version and did a miniseries later. I heard it ******. Haha.
