You have to understand that just because race is mentioned in the movie it doesnt make it stereotypical.
And for the last time, its a friggin fiction movie. Its not sending any messages to anyone. Its not giving "voice" to any obscure theories no one gives a **** about. Even the most gullible, ******ed person wouldnt come out of the theatre thinking wow, i never knew white people all want to be black.
Its just a movie.
The black friend was making fun of White people - saying how "oh when you go visit are you gonna come back all bourgeois" or something like that. He also implied that he should be worried because "Whites are racist."
Did you even see the movie? The whole theme was - "White people want to be black."
Ask yourself this - could they get away with reversing the roles? And playing on black stereotypes? And if they could et away with it - would it be labeled racist by blacks? ABSOLUTELY.

Your problem is clearly that you only want to see things as black vs white.
You see when the black friend made that 'bourgeois' comment, I took it more as a social class gap reference then a racial one. The main character or his friend arent speaking '******' or 'ebonics' or whatever you wanna call it. The black cops arent either.
The bourgoies reference is something that happens in ALL different communities I can think of. Its commonly used amongst whites in the context of people from the American South vs North East. Does it offend you then? You WANT to take it as a black vs white.
If they reversed colors, had a black familiy taking over white bodies through voodoo or something like that, with a Haitian athlete taking home his white girlfriends, and it was done in the same quality manner, I would have enjoyed it just as much, I can only speak for myself on this one. But I didnt see anything that could be considered 'racist' or 'unacceptable' in this movie. Not by a long shot.Last edited by AllBoxingAD; 04-20-2017, 02:13 PM.

I mean, the social/wealth gap is correlated to race in a lot of cases - here was one of them.
"DOn't came back with your pants all up to your chest." Harmless joke - but again, just a double standard, and another way hollywood portrays Whites compared to Blacks. Heh, I just can't imagine a movie where two White friends are talking, and he says "don't come back with your pants all sagging to your ass crack." And then the main protagonist of the movie makes a blatantly racist statement like "I feel nervous when I'm around too many black people."
Sorry - just can't picture a movie being made like this. In this day and age of anti-Whiteness, and "everything being racist," it would receive too much criticism and negatively. And TAHT is wot this is really about - the double standards.
and LOL I specifically said "I am NOT offended" by these type of movies where they aim to make fun of/negatively portray Whites. It's just something that happens, and I point it out..
If you're offended by racial stereotypes, and racial jokes, you're a POOSY. But THEREIN LIES THE ISSUE! It would NOT be acceptable if races were reversed, because all the whining and crying about hurt feelings over racism. That is all I'm saying.Last edited by Cheek busting; 04-20-2017, 04:07 PM.

You are projecting your own mentality, though.
Now - the fact that a movie like this gets made, shows the double standards about race in this country. And how racism is allowed by one race (blacks), and not by another.
Just recognizing reality.
