Heh - it's hilarious when people do that. They'll give their two cents on a subject, and then when somebody retorts, they claim "I don't care"!

Long-ass reply? It was just broken up into small paragraphs to help people skim, without actually reading, to get the gist of the information.

If you didn't care - you wouldn't have popped up in dis thread.

There have been exactly two threads made on this subject (as far as I can tell) lately. One was made from an Afrocentrist PoV, and the other (my thread) was made from a neutral PoV to let people see what the mummies looked like.

it's not about the mummy. this thread and all african related threads in the lounge will always end up became debate about who own ancient egyptian culture. and always the same posters, i just pointing out that this ancient civilztion they squablling about are not worth it, the chinese build more advance civilztion in the same period.

i remember several months back somebody made thread about racist crime in south africa, have no connection to egypt at all and it already have word "nubian" and "pharaoh" in the first 5 replies.

Good point - this debate is extremely played out on the internet in general - not this just forum.

I guess that's why I made this thread - to show racists that Ancient Egypt was its own civilization - having nothing to do with "black" or "white" people.

Moreover - I literally had never really seen any mummies before (aside from King Tut), and I just found it fascinating to see so many of them, with their hair actually still preserved.

So this thread was more to do with showing the mummies, than the tired, played out black vs white ancient egypt debate.

Also - just so you know - Afrocentrists claim that Ancient Chinese civilizations were built by black people as well (srsly look it up).

So the whole Egyptian thing is just a small example of how silly these people are..
