Contrary to popular belief, the Union won the Civil War primarily because it had the industries, solders, technology and centralized form of government. But, to their credit, the Southern Confederacy neary won the war because the South had a greater concentration of wealth, trained military leaders and millions of unpaid slave workers whose labor provided food, military supplies and supportive care for unattended white families and farms.

Yet at the conclusion of the war, every single slave whether in the border states or deep south was freed

The country could've been united after the war and slavery could've still been kept, but it wasn't, no matter what our thoughts are on Lincoln or Emancipation Proclamation, one of the key requirements at the conclusion of the war was for slavery to be abolished
When Lincoln broadened the war’s objectives to include the abolition of slavery, he connected the success of the Union to freedom for the slave. By the end of the war, a majority of Northerners supported granting freedmen the right to vote and equal protection under the law\ even if they continued to believe, as many did, that black people were inferior to white people.

There were more than 200,000 black men that had fought in the Union Army with promise to become free ****** to defeat the Old Confederacy.

That is not contrary to popular belief, that is exactly the popular belief. The south did not have any great concentrated form of wealth, their whole economy was primarily agriculture. As soon as Tennessee fell in 1862 the South fought mostly a defensive war where their defeat was imminent.

Bottom line is hundreds of thousands of white men died for the freedom of ******, the overwhelming majority of the northeastern states had already abolished slavery long before the war.

        We'll have to disagree here.

        Yes, they died.

Just like many men and women have died in Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam. Do you think these men and women died because these politicians cared about some guy in Iraq named Usman or did they die because those that governed them told them to go to war while having ulterior motives for oil and $$$? Same applies to Vietnam. Vietnam was one big lie.

So yes, many white men died in the Civil War, but it wasn't for slavery. At least that wasn't the main point of it.

All this nonsense is going to push white people in the US behind characters like *****, perhaps even worse, and you'll be wishing for how it used to be.

White people are the majority in the US by some distance, and if you keep going you're going to get reminded.

The North was flooding in immigrants with jobs in the North and free land out West. The South relied on slave labor and refused to adapt. The saw the tide was turning and seceded.
Do you reside in the south that you are making such inaccurate claims?

I never owned any ******, never harmed a "black person", never thought less of a black man based on his color. My black friends would come over to the house to play video games and football in the side lot all summer long.

I can remember going over my friend's house to play video games and he told me to stay in his room while his uncle came over. I couldn't understand why at the time but he said his uncle just didn't like white people and he didn't want any problems...I was like 10 at the time.b

In any case, I refuse to accept blame for something some white person did in the past...that wasn't me. I walk my grandma's 80 year old black neighbor across the street on Christmas Eve when she comes over for dinner. I spend a couple days a month serving food and drinks to the veterans at the local VA hospital with a volunteer group....plenty of colored folks there with ALL SORTS OF CRAZY problems that I gladly serve without a thought.

No way I'm gonna let someone who is really a racist try and tell me I have something to feel guilty about or that I'm priveledged. Worked hard every day of my life and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let someone take that away.

No one is saying that White people don't work hard. Let's not forget that they were immigrants themselves not too long ago, and they have entire histories of struggle, including escaping religious intolerance.

The point being made is that White people should show empathy for the unbalanced way ********** are treated, instead of ignoring/being oblivious to it. There's no way around the fact that racism is a huge issue not only in our country, but in the world right now. If they were to demand equality along with **********, it would certainly make it hard for our system to ignore racism and injustice overall.

As for the poster who mentioned *****, I know that his candidacy is a sign of how many White people are feeling. His popularity with party voters has secured an enormous impact on our media and impressive turnout. That cannot be disputed. Personally, however, I believe the pushing of rage toward ********** is a trick used by the elite to hide how the elite have taken advantage of White people, as well. They're showing you the most vulnerable and saying, "They did it!" while running out the back door.

The people have to peacefully protest. Discrimination never stopped going on after the slave era. It remained, and the only difference now is that technology is allowing victims to capture that discrimination. If they don't protest, nothing will ever stand a chance at stopping it.

And, yes, White people are the majority, but I wouldn't use that as a threat. **** Germany is a great example of how a seemingly unstoppable power can destroy itself, if hate consumes it.

After these equal rights are achieved through protest, what is going to be the next step for a group of people who value Kanye and Gucci Mane? There's major problems but solving one won't automatically solve the others.
