Jada Pinkett and Will Smith are just upset he didn't get nominated. I think the only guy who was snubbed big time was Idris Elba, he probably deserved a nomination.

But Straight Outta Compton???? Give me a break. Concussion??? Will Smith wasn't bad, he was solid, but he was way better in Ali and The pursuit of Happyness. Creed??? I don't even think Stallone deserved his nom, should've gone to Elba.

I didn't hear anyone complaining when Jamie Foxx won for Ray over DiCaprio who had won the Globe for The Aviator, and deserve to win really.

So they can boycott the Oscars all they want, it's a double standard for the Smiths. Cause they give themselves and family members parts in their movies over others simply because they are family, which takes jobs away from other possible actors, so......???

And Sp1ke Lee???? Call me when Lee makes a good movie again, cause he's made one decent movie, Inside Man, in like 20 years.

I don't think it's ignorant to say it's really the studios, producers, people in charge of casting that are to blame though. The lack of leading roles in QUALITY films is what hurts African Americans in the Oscars. When Denzel, Jamie Foxx, Will Smith, Chiwetel Ejiofor, etc. do quality really good films, they've been nominated.

Arguing for mediocre films like Concussion to get Smith a Best Actor nom, or Ryan Coogler a Best Director nom for Creed or Michael B Jordan Best Actor for Creed, or anything from Straight Outta Compton, which was decent but way overblown in hype by the subject matter and the group it was portraying......c'mon now. They weren't better than the ones that were nominated, simple as that.

People should've been arguing for Coogler and Jordan for Fruitvale Station, which was FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR better than Creed or Straight Outta Compton ****. Fruitvale Station should've been nominated for Best Picture in 2013 over Captain Phillips. Captain Phillips was a good movie, but it really should've just recognized Tom Hanks acting more than anything.

Like I said, if anyone wants to call out producers and casting directors, hell yes cause they are the ones not offering more leading or supporting roles in quality films to african american actors.

That's your opinion that most people don't share. Foxx deserved the Oscar for Ray in the view of just about everyone in the industry. Foxx also won the Golden Globe for Ray. Portraying this as a robbery is absolutely ridiculous. That's why you didn't hear any "complaining."

I find it strange how you totally dismissed a critically acclaimed performance enhanced by playing a blind musician and playing the instrument on his own.

It's not an issue, black actors have been nominated before and have won. The issue is more with the quality of film making which has slipped drastically. I'm black but also a film buff, very few movies deserve the title best movie this year. The ones bring complained about just weren't that great and by the numbers. I mean really SOC was decent, Creed was decent, Concussion was trash. And then you have Beast of A Nation, very good movie but Idris wasn't even the main male character, how can he be nominated for Best Actor.

Plus it was a web movie so it can't be nominated for best picture.

The question that has to be asked is who would you take out, many of the actors put their soul into their role. It's unfair for you to just say take him out because of racist. You reason has to be more solid than that.

There's real world issues at hand. Will Smitt not being nominated after a **** performance, in which he made millions of dollars, isn't one of them.

The Oscars can't nominate black actors and actresses if they aren't given the roles. They can't do anything about it, boycotting them is ******ed... which is par for the course from Spike Lee, who is truly a midget metally as well as physically.

If you want to speak out against film studios and producers, great. That is who is responsible for not casting ********** in lead roles that don't have anything to do with being a minority. The Oscars are supposed to objectively look at performances and productions.... you know... judge not by the color of their skin and all that.

That's exactly it. It's true there is no diversity but drumming up movies like creed and Compton being snubbed to support their argument, is laughable. Just because a movie is enjoyable doesn't make it Oscar worthy. If that was the case there would 100's every year that were snubbed. If they wanted to make a case they should have brought up the actress in a movie called Tangerine. That's the type of movie and role that the oscars usually nominate. Her being left out is actually a snub.

The reason there's whitewashing in Hollywood is because us African Americans don't support anything that isn't a comedy or pop culture related. You remember the movie Exodus, it barely made it budget back. Now replace everyone with the proper black characters. You eliminate a large majority of whites and black people just aren't interested in those types of movies.

More sophisticated Oscar worthy black movies ignored by the black community. Science Fiction Ignored by the black community, period pieces largely ignore by the black community. You can't blame studios for trying to make money and movies like Ride Along aren't going to be nominated. It's sad we have to play ****** and pretend Concussion, Creed, or SOC are great movies when there merely decent flicks. And the two most beautifully shot and unique movies, Dope and Chiraq aren't even mentioned because guess what, they weren't blockbuster releases.

And you can't forget black actors have the pull to make more major black release but instead guys like Will Smith uses his pull to get his no talent son on screen.

Like it or not but the Oscars are the most respected award show because they stick their guns and chose art over popularity, the way it should be. You have BET giving best actor to Kevin Hart over Denzel and Don Cheadle, absolute fuqing mockery.
