                  Actually, the paper cited in that wikipedia article stated that Mexican American Mestizos typically range between 30–46% Native American. mtDNA reflects ancestry inherited through the maternal line, suggesting that Mestizos are mostly the result of unions between European men and Native women, which should really come as no surprise.
