    Anyone read the alchemist?

Read it today, couldn't put it down so managed to finish it in 4 hours.

Some epic reading and definitely some moments that make you think about situations in your life and how to manage issues going forward.

I'd like to get some feedback from some people who may have read it and some suggestions on similar books.

    Thanks

Lawl. I read like a chapter of it, think I or my girl still has a copy of it on the book shelf. Kinda thought it was boring though, think I started reading a Kerouac book instead.

would you mind elaborating? without spoiling the book for those of us who havent read it of course. i have the book myself but havent read it yet since i have too much other stuff to go through. still, having heard so many great things about it id like to hear more of your viewpoint.

It's kinda pretentious, the author obviously thinks they're super deeper and they kinda toot their own horn in their writing style and it's kinda obvious. From what I can tell you from reading it, im being overly harsh tbh tho.

Paulo Coelho is for literature what Buddha Bar is for music.

His books are very readable and they leave you with the sensation that you've been part of great initiation experience...
