    Cheers for Indian Desserts!!!

Two words: GULAB JAMUN!!! That **** has gotta be the best dessert-food ever...

Normally I'm not big on sweets, maybe from time to time; but damn I went to this new Indian buffet, and they had the best desserts ever!

Gulab Jamun, if you don't know wot it is, it's described as: Fried milk dumplings soaked in a sugary, rose syrup infused with a hint of traditional Indian ****es such as Saffron, and Cardamom. NOTE: They look very similar to doughnut holes - same size and color - maybe a little darker. But the taste is nothing like you've ever experienced! They are very sweet, so you only eat a few.

Rice Kheer - basically just rice pudding, but so much better. It's rice in a thick, sweet, and ****ed (again with saffron and cardamom) milk sauce.

Fruit Custard - Self-explanatory, but again, the custard has a hint of Indian ****es.

Carrot Halwa - finely grated carrot stewed with warm, sweetened milk, Indian ****es, and topped with grated almonds, cashews, and raisins (not a fan of raisins, so I just picked them out).

Mango Halwa - same, but finely grated mangoes instead of carrots.

Absolutely delicious; and of course regular savory Indian food (all sorts of curried chicken, goat...), chicken tikka masala (they made theirs with a cashew sauce, was great), chicken vindaloo naan and chipati for the bread (my favorite types of bread), etc., etc., etc.

not to be mean but most indian dishes that have been offered to me looked like a bowl of throw up or diarrhea. certainly not the best looking or smelling food, imo.

You've been offered poor dishes, then!

**** the deserts. Tandoori chicken main cannot be beaten. The sad thing is, very few restaurants do it well.

Khan's in Queensway or Benares in Mayfair will blow any sane man away.

                  Indian main courses are amazing.

In India I once had a dessert that was a milky sweet liquid with lots of mini gulab jamuns floating in it. Awesome stuff.

Yup! From starting soups/appetizers, to main dishes, to side breads (naans, chipati, etc.), and finishing with dessert.

That soudns awesome - I've only had Gulab Jamun in the traditional sugar syrup... But Indians like to use milk in a lot of desserts, so I bet it was awesome.
