Damn, I can't believe this. I talked to Walt on a few occasions. I am closest to Baya, R!Z, Walt and Jose in this place and I was wondering why he hasn't posted.
RIP my brother, it's very sad especially when you leave a wife and two kids.

That just.....sucks. One of the core guys around here back in my favorite days on this site.
My thoughts go out to his family.
RIP, Walt.

This must be one of the worst days of my life.
Rest In Peace, Walt buddy.
A worker of mine was apprehended for some traffic violations this afternoon, he was driving my vehicle because I asked him for some errands.
A very close brother in law just passed away a while ago.
And now this sad news. See you in heaven, Walt, my friend.

I honestly never thought that I'd be posting here again, but after getting news of Walt's passing from Adrian, Jay, and Jason via facebook it seems only fitting to me that I honor the man's memory here - In the very lounge where I built a great and lasting friendship with the guy we all knew as 'Walt Liquor.'
There's no sugarcoating it - This is a tough loss. Sure, we've lost members here before, notably 2ndIINone, RAESAAD, and Samurai. I considered all of those guys friends, but I'd be lying if I said I thought as highly of them as I did of Walt. It was nothing personal, I just knew Walt better. We were closer. We built a deep friendship with each other here for what seemed like years chatting it up in 'Drunk Lang.' And this was 'Drunk Lang' in its prime, too. None of the watered down bull**** the newcomers are accustomed to today.
I got to know many great human beings throughout my years of participation in drunken conversation in what was then a cornucopia of topics of conversation woven together via a thread of unspoken but universally recognized sloven comradery...Walt may have been the best of those human beings. It was a bonafide and disorderly crew of some of the best people I've met on any internet message board, certainly the best this website has ever or will ever know.
MANGLER, Sweet Pea 50, Walt Liquor, Spray Resistant, Miburo, Nodogoshi, MAKAVELLI, Ree****yaluss (as he was known then), Derranged, RWK, THE GULLY GAD, Chief2ndzOnly - The list goes on and on but I'm too drunk (I'm celebrating your memory, buddy), too depressed (I also just lost my father on the night of September 10th), and too ****ing old to sit here and compile an accurate list without ****ing it up somehow. The point is this - If you were one of the boys, 'Drunk Lang' was always on your nightly agenda.
The conversation was as varied and entertaining as our userbase. Some nights you'd drop in and it'd be MANGLER and myself waxing poetic about 80s slasher flicks, a favorite genre of ours. Other nights you'd pop in and Sweet Pea 50 and MAKAVELLI would be taking a trip down memory lane discussing the toys and memories of their childhoods. Other nights it would be Miburo and myself discussing the MLB postseason. Other nights you'd find Nodogoshi ranting in a drunken stupor about Japanese **********s, Yakuza-owned bars in Tokyo, or talking **** about how he damn near got into yet another bar brawl with a random drunk assh*le over some petty dispute.
The topic of conversation was always second to the people you were having it with. Always. Whatever we discussed was almost irrelevant to the company being kept - We were brothers who, instead of wasting ****loads of money on overpriced booze at our local watering hole, decided instead to stay indoors, save money, and have just as good a time as any of those drunken ****s right here in the place we called home for so long.
A lot of those guys rarely even post anymore. I haven't heard from many of them in quite a while. Some of them, like MANGLER, GULLY, and RWK, have disappeared entirely without a word as to how they're doing, leaving many of us to speculate their fates. Unfortunately, those days are long gone and I honestly feel sorry for those of you who never got to experience the type of brotherhood that I'm talking about here. You couldn't possibly find a more "different" group of guys if you tried - Socially, economically, spiritually, politically - Hell, even our ethnic backgrounds were as different as the topics we discussed on a nightly basis. But you wouldn't know it if you watched us interact with each other.
That's forum life, though. I've seen it time and time again and it always ****ing sucks - Guys drop in, guys drop out. Sometimes temporarily, sometimes permanently. In the latter cases you always want to think the best but reality is a cruel b*tch that, like now, finds a way to piss on your head.
There's nothing I can say about Walt that you guys haven't probably said already, I haven't had the time or heart to read the comments posted thus far. All I can really say is that I loved the **** out of the time we spent together shooting the breeze and I'll miss him dearly. As far as human beings on the internet go, for my money, Walt was among the best I ever met. My heart goes out to his wife, two children, and the vast amount of people whose lives he touched both online and off.
With my father dying on the 10th, I figured I'd always have a reason to remember early September with sadness. Now I've got two.
Rest in peace, buddy.
Thanks for writing this, Mike.
