I'd give Russel Wilson the edge. He'd also beat the **** outta James Rodriguez.
Top to bottom the NFL isn't more athletic than the EPL just due to the bulk/pure strength based positions in American Football. If you look at guys who can really hold up the ball and bully defenders around in the top European leagues, like 2/3rds of the NFL is that strong or stronger and they're likely significantly faster as well.
Both have excellent athletes, but like mentioned above training is focused on different things between sports and even positions.
To try and put it in perspective Ryan Shawcross would need to put on like 20 kilo of muscle to be the crude equivalent of a centerback in the NFL, and many of those guys are way faster than he is now.
I think NFL skill players (RB, WR, CB, and some TEs) are more athletic than soccer players. I don't think you can find a soccer player that's nearly as athletically gifted as Megatron.
