Ive often thought it would have been cool to grow up in this time. But im not sure if I would have been an outlaw, cowboy, farmer or businessman.


What do you think you would have been and why?

Would be ok as long as you
* didn't have impacted teeth
* never got an infection of any kind
* never ever got sick, especially with tuberculosis, dysentery, or cholera.
* were white, Anglo Saxon (Irish, Italians and ***s need not apply)

It would have been rubbish. One of the defining features of frontier life was violence, the violence that is inevitable in any society with a dearth of women and an abundance of young men.

In short Brokeback Mountain was not a story about forbidden love. It was pretty much your only option.
